Hugging therapy is definitely a powerful way of healing. Research shows that hugging (and also laughter) is extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress. When we are asked which the safest place on earth is, we just have one answer, in our parent’s arms. Let us see the world, Scholarship Contest Winner Rachel has drawn.
It is quite an arduous task to draw the world. I had considered many different drawings I could make, but this one seemed the most accurate. It’s not a literal drawing of the world I want to live in, so much as the feeling I wish the world had. This illustration is warm, cozy, and safe. It brings up feelings of familiarity and nostalgia. In this world, masculinity is not just anger-fueled strength, but calm support. The edges are fuzzy and things are alright. This is the world I want to live in, because in this world moments like these are treasured.
No wonder Rachel was chosen by us as one of the winners. Usually, people think about the materialistic world they want to live in. But hardly, anyone cherished the emotional bond and small moments in life.
We wish Rachel all the best for her great future and congratulate her for being the winner of our Scholarship contest 2018-19.
